In China, the most important new year celebration is the Spring Festival which is based on our lunar calendar. Before the festival, families will clean their homes to sweep away bad luck. On New Year's Eve, all family members gather to have a big dinner together. During the holiday, we visit relatives, give red envelopes to children, hang red couplets on doors, and watch lions (dragons with lion heads?) dancing to welcome the new year and wish for luck.
