We use “as...as” to say two things are the same in some way.
👉 It means equal in that quality (like size, speed, beauty, etc.).
🧠 Sentence structure:
as + adjective/adverb + as
✅ Positive sentences:
“You are as tall as Tom.”
🟢 That means: You and Tom are the same height.
“She runs as fast as her brother.”
🟢 That means: She and her brother run at the same speed.
❌ Negative sentences:
Use “not as...as” to say one thing is less than the other.
“This coffee is not as strong as yesterday’s.”
🔴 That means: Today’s coffee is weaker than yesterday’s.
“I’m not as good at Spanish as my friend.”
🔴 That means: My friend speaks better Spanish than me.
❓ Question form:
To ask a question, just move the verb “be” to the front:
“Are you as tired as me?”
“Is this lesson as difficult as the last one?”
🎯 Use “just as...as” for emphasis:
“My room is just as big as yours.”
That means: The rooms are exactly the same size.
🗣 Quick examples for students to repeat:
“You are as funny as your brother.” ✅
“This phone is not as good as my old one.” ❌
