What is the best medicine for a cough? I can't get rid of it although I have taken antibiotics prescribed by the doctor!!

Here are some tips from Chinese.
1. If the cough is caused by cold, then take some ginger soup in the morning.
2. If the cough is caused by heat, then take mung bean porridge (only bean, no rice mixed).
Meanwhile, drink more warm water and have some pears (with some sugar candy, if possible).

Here is another one that works only if the cough is caused by cold.
1. Breathe in.
2. Hold a while.
3. Breathe out slowly
Repeat this process for 20 minutes, or until you feel a slight sweat. This drives the cold out of the body.
Do some push ups to strengthen the lungs.

There is a natural medicine that I consider it excellent for improving the cough,
