What does this mean exactly? "I stand only to gain by it." I don't fully understand this expression: I stand only to gain by it. You stand to gain means you have very little chance of losing.For example you enter into a venture wherein you know that you will make good profit which means that you can't lose and you will win then you can say, I do not stand to lose OR I stand to gain.
