difference of but,except, other than and apart from
i can understand them all but could i use both of them in a same sentence?

To use all 4 of them in 1 sentence will look weird, but I'll try.
Other than my own pets, I love all animals apart from dogs, except for Jack Russels, but even then, some are nice.

Just a clarification.
Are you asking 'What is the difference between the words 'but' and 'except' and the phrases 'other than' and 'apart from'
but - Would be a reason why something didn't happen.
I would have arrived on time but I missed my train.
Except - would be something that was missed
I polished all the furniture except for that chair.
You would probably not use 'but' and 'except' in the same sentence.
Also you would not use 'other than' and 'apart from' in the same sentence.
'other than' and 'apart from' have essentially the same meaning.
