Se diría ¿Qué hiciste ayer? El tiempo verbal es el "pretérido indefinido"
Te doy unos ejemplos:
Hola María, ¿qué hiciste ayer por la mañana? Fui al cine.
Y tú Carlos, ¿qué hiciste ayer por la tarde? Estuve paseando todo el tiempo.
Sin embargo:
¿Qué has hecho hoy por la mañana? He ido de compras.
Como ha ocurrido hoy, se usa el pretérito perfecto.

"¿Qué hiciste ayer?" or "¿Qué has hecho ayer?. The first one is more common...
