Difference between besides, apart from, aside from and except for? ..
Could someone please explain the differences between these words for me? I'm kind of confused ..

They all pretty much mean the same thing but here are some examples on how they can be used.
(Same sentence. Different word)
Besides its wonderful kitchen, that house needs a lot of work.
Apart from its wonderful kitchen, that house needs a lot of work.
Aside from its wonderful kitchen, that house needs a lot of work
Except for its wonderful kitchen, that house needs a lot of work.
or
That house needs a lot of work, except for its wonder kitchen.
(Different Sentences)
That shirt is ugly and/also its not my size.
That shirt is ugly, besides its not my size.
Explanation:
Besides can be put in the place of and or also in this sentence and still have the same meaning.
No one was at the park only/except the park ranger.
No one was at the park, apart from the park ranger.
Apart from can take the place of only and except and still have the same meaning.
