Note: My choice in this case is B. Is it correct to use B to express things she did in the past?Is the answer A because the person who asked the question uses present tense, so the answer has to be in the present too?

"Yesterday" is a time clause that indicates "finished" time so you have to use the past simple tense in the above sentence, which is "had."
Answer A is the present perfect tense which you would not use with the word "yesterday" in the same sentence.

Thanks chuanzhekuzi, from the reading of the webpage, it looks like the answer is B because the speaker didn't use his deductive reasoning to derive his response. If he has some solid evidence suggesting that it has to be the case, he could use A.
