Cloth - the flat, flexible material clothes are made from. Like fabric. Towels, bags, and so forth are also made from cloth. 'Clothes' are the things we wear made from cloth. 'Clothes' just means pants, shirts, outer-coats, socks, underwear, etc. (ex. "Most people store clothes in a dresser or closet") 'Clothing' means the same thing as 'clothes', but I think is used in some specific, possibly more formal instances. (ex. 'Fine clothing', 'A clothing store or boutique', or also 'In prehistoric times, it is believed much clothing was made from animal skins.) I hope this helps.

I can cite examples. Clothes are made from cloth. Cotton cloth comes from a plant. The cloth that is made from a sheep is called wool. Clothing styles vary from one place to another. Clothes should be comfortable and easy to keep clean. Clothing factories cut and sew cloth to make clothes for people to wear.

Here are two sentence examples for 'cloth': "Some early airplanes had wings constructed from cloth tensioned over a wooden frame." "It is possible to make a kite from cotton cloth." It just occurred to me that 'cloth' might not be used to describe a very heavy fabric, like the canvas that was used for a ship's sails.
