Remembering Spanish Verbs
I'm doing well with Spanish, however I'm forgetting my verbs constantly. Does anyone have any memory hooks to help me learn the following words and commit them to memory?
tú eres - you are
soy - I am
esto es - this is
tengo - I have (or I am?)
tienes - are youThank you everyone for your ideas and support! :) I think I should have explained what I meant a bit better.
I'm a visual and kinesthetic learner, and so I use visual hooks to remember word associations until I've got them solidly. I use a variety of tools to do this, however the most effective (for me) is to use something visual to "hook" in my brain. So for instance:
- When I get HOT I burn CALORies. (hot = calor) and I have an image in my head of this
That's the kind of stuff I'm looking for to remember these verbs, although it may just be I need to memorize them using other tactics.

Hi, Bonny!
One of the things I usually do when learning a new verb in English is to associate its writing or pronounciation to some other Spanish word. Nevertheless, the best way for me is that of using them into some contexts. I do not think that of memorizing is a good way of learning. I have tried it and I have always ended up forgetting them.
TO BE/ ser o estar
(tú) eres - you are
- (tú) eres guapa. you are beautiful.
(yo) soy - I am
- (yo) soy alta. I am tall.
TO HAVE / tener
(yo) tengo - I have
- (yo) tengo un perro. I have a dog.
(tú) tienes - you have
- (tú) tienes un coche. You have a car.
esto es - this is
- ¡esto es genial!. this is amazing!
Hope this helps you!! Good luck!

Learn phrases instead of trying to learn verbs by themsleves. That way you have some context, and you know when to use what verb, and you'll probably remember more that way
