You could use "not to toot my own horn". Another possibility is "not to pat myself on the back."

Well, i think it could be  the expresión "if uou will", you could say: i am, if you will, a good chef
It is suponed to be a sophisticated expresión, but i think it can serve the purpose you are looking for....not an expert here, though!..i hope you get more opinions on this
