Que significa 'guardar largas colas'?
Cogé este cita de un artículo "Tenemos que guardar largas colas para tener algo del agua que llega en los camiones-cisterna". Nunca he visto el verbo 'guardar' usado así, alguien me puede ayudar? Es parecido a 'afrontar' en este contexto?

Normalmente usamos "hacer cola"...pero también "hay que guarda cola" con el mismo significado. Una de las acepciones de "guardar" en el diccionario de la RAE:
3. tr. Observar o cumplir aquello a lo que se está obligado. Guardar la ley, la palabra, el secreto..........
y las colas.

En Chile decimos "Hacer largas colas": Esto significa que tú debes hacer una larga fila para obtener algún bien que es escaso:

It means "to wait in a queue" in England, or  "to wait in line" in the US.
It is more common to say "hacer cola".

It means to wait for your tunr in a long queue.

And 'afrontar' means to face it ('face' like in 'face the truth'), so it would be right metaphorically, but not literally.
