What is the difference between into and onto.. What is the difference between into and onto, Can I use onto and into in the same situations I use on and in? Would you give me examples please? Thanks.

Hello :) ! Here is an example of each: "He's getting into the car" (meaning he is going inside) "He's climbing onto the table" (meaning he is getting up on the table, standing on it, etc) Into = inside Onto = on top of But they can also have other uses.. Such as: "I'm so into you" (meaning I like you/love you) "I'm onto you" (meaning I am suspicious of what you're doing) Hope this helps! Sorry if it's confusing

Into and onto use direction, whereas in and on don't. Example: A dog is running in the park (he is already in the park, now he is running). A dog is running into the park (he was running outside the park, now he has run through the gate and is running in the park) The child is jumping on the bed (he is already on the bed, now he is jumping up and down). The child is jumping onto the bed (he was standing on the floor, he jumped from the floor to the bed).
