Where can I find simpel but fun children books in Japanese? Can you help me find simple and fun children books in Japanese? I'd like to have a few children books in different levels of difficulty, something like my first book to normal reading. Here in the Netherlands we have a kind of system for the difficulty, it's called avi, it ranges from 1 to 9 (or it did when i was using them) These where only children books for children to the age of 10-12 depending on how fast you learn to read (it's mostly based on speed and fluency when you read out loud) Avi 1-3 don't have uppercase and interpunction. (I don't know if this is the right way to say it, I mean HOOFDLETTERS and '.,;:")

Don't know about fun, but I use this Chokochoko Library for reading material, so hope it helps: https://chokochoko.wordpress.com/the-great-library/ You can choose your reading level (N5 through N1) and things to read like fairytales, science books or articles on various topics depending on the difficulty. avi sounds a bit similar to JLPT or N levels in that the first couple levels strictly use kana for everything and then ease you into simple kanji characters, sometimes accompanied by furigana to help us read them, as you move along the levels. Are hoofdletters kind of like..diacritics? I'm not sure what you mean but Dutch sounds so interesting!
