someone interpret these lyrics for me please there's a song named <locust street>by The Black Crowes some of these lyrics I don't quite understand would you please give me some help? the first line of the song goes:"Dry bread on the table Burn the mill salt the paper" salt the paper? Does it really mean :put some salt in paper? Eating something? and another line goes:"And its easy pickins on Locust Street There's no place to hide" what's "easy pickins"? My opinon: those are slangs. looking forward to your answers have a nice day buddy

Maybe the 'salt the paper' line is implying that there is no food, so they have to eat paper? I'm not sure about that, though. 'Easy pickins' is a phrase that can mean different things, depending on how it's used. In this instance, I think they're trying to say that it's easy to pick someone up for sex on Locust Street.
