The best dictionary is "pleco", which is an app. I highly recommend you download it. https://www.pleco.com/
Another site I use a lot is this - http://www.archchinese.com/chinese_english_dictionary.html

MDBG: http://www.mdbg.net/
If you find a word, you can click to see all characters separately, you see the simplified and traditional character, you can click further to see example sentences, you can find the stroke order of characters, it has the pronunciation, the radical , if you have Skritter there is a button to add the word to your Skritter,...
A pretty good dictionary I would say.
Yellowbridge: http://www.yellowbridge.com/chinese/dictionary.php
It also has the meaning, pinyin, which part of speech it is, example sentences,...
I generally use this site if I want more/different example sentences than I got on MDBG, or if I want to know which part of speech the word belongs to (MDBG doesn't mention that).
And next, not really a website, but it's an extention in my browser (I use Google Chrome, I don't know if it works in other browers):
Zhongwen Chinese Popup dictionary: It's maybe not the best dictionary, it doesn't give you a huge amount of information about a word. BUT it is quite handy. When the extension is active, every time you hover with your cursor over a word in Chinese, it will show you the translation. It comes in very handy it you want to read a Chinese text online, but you don't feel like constantly copying and pasting all the words you don't know into a dictionary. Saves you a lot of time, and it's more fun when you can easily continue reading without having to stop all the time.
