DUMMY SUBJECT (IT)
Hi, there
I would like to know why it is wrong to say ""After I took the medicine, it wasn't too long for it to kick in" and"After I took the medicine, it didn't take too long for it to kick in"
Why can't I use "IT" wasn't/didn'take here? Isn't it functioning as a dummy subject? As in: "It took me a while to learn that" and "It didn take long for the rumour to get"... Both sentences have a dummy subject, don't they? Why are those correct, but "After I took the medicine, it didn't take too long for it to kick in" isn't?
Thank you
