意思是一样的，只是写法不一样。just one word has two types , nowadays , we only use the second one 教 in chinese mainland .

they mean are same ,just One is the traditional Chinese characters, the other is a simplified in china mianland,we use simplified usually教,but in honkong,it use character usually敎

Both are variants of each other. The "X" is truer to the original intent for it represents "knowledge" as in 學 (two hands pouring knowledge into the son, only males were encourage to learn letters). In calligraphy, it is more "fluent" in stroke order for the non-X form.
