Comandante
Oigo esta palabra mucho en películas norteñas mexicanas. La traducción literal en inglés es “commander.” ¿Pero es posible que se utilice para aguacil (sheriff)? Gracias.

Comandante is a military or policial rank means commander or its equivalent luteniant colonel. There are also firefighters and sheriffs with that rank. Comandante doesn´t mean sheriff but it could be his rank.
