Let me try to use an example from spoken language (try to catch the tone)
Seker ister misin? Istersin demiiiiiii When a mother for example asks her child if it wants candy, and continues saying "Yes yo doooo" or "of course you do!"
Sen büyük bir elma yersin. You wont hear this form with these nouns because its not used for its actual reason.
Sen bu işi yaparsın kardeşim, ben biliyorum. You can do this, my brother, I know it.
Sen bu şirkette mi çalışıyorsun? Do you work at this company?
O yer ve içer, ama hiç kilo almaz. He drinks and he eats, but never gains any weight.
"Sen yiyorsun ve içiyorsun" You cant hear this group of words together without a short sentence following it. This could perhaps be heard sometimes, with a shout out to the example above: Sen yiyorsun ve içiyorsun da, bizi düşünmüyor musun? Youre drinking and eating, but arent you thinking about us?
I suggest keeping this piece of grammar for a later stage, because even explaining it is difficult, since its not really important in written language... I hope this helped a tiny bit.

"Geniş zaman" and "şimdi zaman". If you understand a little English, it's roughly the same as "present simple" and "present continuous".

Just to stress the meaning of the word in the sentence... in English "do" is used for this...
example :
Turkish: onlar pasta yerler
English: They do it cake
