Hi, could you please explain what "taking dictation" means in this sentence?
"Her secretary is very good at taking dictation."
Does it mean her secretary is very good at writing down what another person has just said?

Hi ! I think it means ecxatly what you said. But it can means another things too, like when a person follow an order. You can say "He's taking dictation from the Council", for example .
