How to say "it's nice to KNOW you"? I heard people saying "it's nice to meet/see you (here)" or stuff similar to that. But what if I just meet somebody for the first time, and feel very happy to know this person? Example (A conversation on Whatsapp or facebook after Jo has given a talk): -Joe: Hi, the talk you gave this morning was very interesting! The ***** you mentioned really inspired me! -Jo: Thank you, I am glad you found it helpful. -Joe: My name is Joe, by the way. I am also working on the same topic as you! -Jo: Nice to (????) you! Perhaps we can work with each other in the future. Does it make sense to say "It's nice to KNOW you"? (It actually does not sound like English to me). Thanks.

I would definitely put "meet" in the blank in question. Especially since it looks like Joe and Jo would like to continue the conversation and association with the speaker. If it was a speaker and the audience member expressed only gratitude without either expecting to see each other again then, "It's nice to see you here" would seem more appropriate but not necessarily better.

You would not normally say 'know you' to someone you have just met for the first time, knowing somebody implies some familiarity which tkes a bit of time to develop. Meet is a far better word
