In current American English, we would more likely say “whenever you like.” “Takes your fancy” sounds old-fashioned and is sometimes used sarcastically. Example: (Boss to an employee who keeps showing up late) “Sure, Jimmy, feel free to start work whenever it takes your fancy. We’re not in business to make money.”
