Slightly different. 脸/面 kind of means that you're referring to the whole "face", including forehead, eyes, nose, mouth and so on. 脸庞/脸颊 particularly means cheeks. I may not be explaining it very clearly. Just wiki "face" and "cheek" and you will know what I mean. Hope this helps!
