Hello Carolynzoe, OEM design stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer design. That is when a certain big company manufactures a piece of equipment primarily for a certain industry it is it's OEM design ,while if another country for example imitated that design of the same piece it won't be it's OEM design . The specific meaning of the term varies in different contexts. In the automobile industry for example the OEM designs would refer to brands of components that the automaker uses in their particular vehicles such as tires or spark plugs.If another company did the same design it wouldn't be its OEM design in that case.
