"Luchiani," no. "Lucre," yes, as explained by Su.Ki. It's not slang. "Lucre" is fairly rare, but the adjectival form, "lucrative," is common; for example, "Thomas Kinkade made a lucrative business out of painting sentimental pictures of imaginary English cottages." Lucky Luciano, whose last name is pronounced "loo-chee-AHN-oh," was a famous Italian-American crime boss.

"Lucre" is probably the word you heard. It isn't slang, though. In fact, it's quite a formal word that has its origins in Latin. We tend to use it in the phrase 'filthy lucre', to show distaste or disapproval.
