Am I correct?
1 We use "Here is / There is + noun - Here are / There are + nouns (don't have "place")" to show something to someone, don't we?
Ex:
Here is a cat.
There is a car.
Here are some books.
There are some pens.
2 We use "There is + noun + place - There are + nouns + place" to say that something exists, and we don't use "here is / here are" to say that something exists, do we?
Ex:
There is one table in the classroom.
There are three chairs in the classroom.
There is a spider in the bath.
There are many people at the bus stop.
Thank you for your help!

Use here is when giving or showing something to someone.
Ex: Here is the book you wanted.
Use there is or there are to say what is in a place.
Ex: There are many species of birds here.
Hence, you should say "there is a cat".
