Migrating our gaze? Changing our view?
Hello!
I'm working on a compilation of experimental photos that want to challenge the audience and make them change their point of view. I'm thinking about the title, and I'm not sure wether "Migrating our Gaze" or "Changing our view" are good options. What do you think? Which one sounds better? Do you have any other title suggestions?
Thank you! :)

Do you want a phrase which is already a natural part of the language in ordinary speech, or something that will catch the attention and be thought-provoking as a title? If the first, use 'Changing our view'; if the second, 'migrating our gaze', which is not something that would be said in ordinary speech. 'Migrate' is not normally used as a transitive verb, though it does come up in some specialised contexts like 'we migrated our computer system to Windows 10 over the weekend'.

Hi Paula,
Firstly, this sounds like an interesting project.
Between the two titles, "Migrating our Gaze" has a nicer ring. But the second seems more applicable in terms of meaning. Here are some things to think about, which might help:
1. Using the plural possessive "our" with the singular "gaze" and "view" suggests you are talking about a collective, or group gaze/view. Is this the idea you want to convey? My guess is your aim would be to change individual points of view.
2. I think gaze suggests something more passive. View CAN suggest something more concrete; a way of looking at the world. Perspective is a nice alternative that I think captures the idea. There are others.
3. The verb is important I think, but depends on how you view the exhibit. Is the exhibit a different view of things, or should it simply trigger the audience to develop a different view? I'm guessing the second and if so then I'd choose a verb which suggests it is acting on the audience. Also, might they simply consider new things, without forgetting the old?
Considering the above, other suggestions are:
- Expanding our perspectives
- Shifted perspectives (you can assume it will happen and title it in past tense)
- Altering our Realities/Altered realities
- Provoking new perspectives/viewpoints
etc etc

Hi! That sounds like a cool project. I like Migrating our Gaze a lot, if the subject matter has to do with culture and change in location, especially. "Changing our view" sounds a little simple and straightforward to me for a compilation meant to challenge. As for a suggestion what do you think about "Where do you stand?" its simple, sort of a play on words, and hopefully will make them think a little. :)
