Hi there,

I would like to know what two words can I use instead of "student". I need to replace that word in the following text:

Young students like Diana should be trained as the new generation of agents of change in order for them to be able to contribute scientific knowledge to the development of their country. ..

It is important to not only equip motivated young students with extensive knowledge about the environment, but to also give them the tools to close gender gaps in the society.

PD: It is for a master's recommendation letter.

"Young pupils like Diana..."
"... equip young motivated scholars..."

Other possible synonyms are "schoolchildren" or possibly "learners", depending on the context.
