Sentences understanding problem
I'm currently reading A Room with A View and having some trouble with understanding a few sentences.
"There was something childish in those eyes, though it was not the childishness of senility." What does "childishness of senility"mean?

I got it, it's like the behavior after having Alzheimer's disease. This really helped! Thank you!

Hi!
I assume that the eyes in question belong to someone old. Selinity refers to the state of being 'senile'.
Senile means an elderly person whose mental faculties are impaired. Example;
'Her husband was now completely senile and had even forgotten who his wife was'.
The idea behind this sentence is that when people become senile they are, in a way, very childlike; they require help to perform the most basic of daily tasks, just like a child. So she's saying that she sees something childish in her eyes, but it has nothing to do with her senile nature.'
I hope this helps
Jimmy
