Either, both and neither
Hi everyone! I learn topic "Either, neither, both". And I'd like to know how often do you use this words in daily conversation? Because I did exercise and found this phrase: "Please ask either Fred or Linda to buy some milk" and I can't understand can I say "Please ask Fred or Linda to buy some milk" or I have to use "either".
Thank you for your attention.
As a UK English speaker I would definitely say that sentence "Please ask either Fred or Linda to buy some milk" in normal daily life, but I wouldn't think it strange if someone said "Please ask Fred or Linda to buy some milk" instead.
I probably say "both" several times a day and "either" most days. I could go a week without saying "neither".

I would not use 'either' in this case and don't think many native US English speakers would either. It may be different in other English countries though. Neither way is incorrect. As for how common they are.... I don't find myself using them that much in daily conversation. Out of the three, I use both the most, then either and I hardly ever use neither.

Thanks! Do I understand right this depends on meaning that I put in?

In this case, you can remove "either", but for more emphasis, on "EITHER him, or her", you can't omit it.
