'was left' is a past simple tense in its passive form ,which doesn't fit in this sentence. You have to use the active form and use the past perfect tense " had left" to refer to an action ( leaving the train ticket at the hotel ) that happened prior to or before another action ( getting to the station) in the past.

"I" is always written with a capital letter in English for some unexplainable reason.

'when ı got to the station ,I realized that ı had left the train ticket in the hotel'... _I was left_ it is a passive form and it is unsuitable for this sentence and ı agree with Cherry:)
