Help me choose the best translation!
I want to translate a Chines saying to English. Here are the options i got from the internet.
1.Sharpen the knife before cutting the wood.
2.sharp tools make good work
3.Good tools facilitate good work
4.The right tool for the right job
5.A handy tool makes a handy man
Among those expressions, which one is commonly used in English? Thank you!
#4 is the most familiar to Americans. It is also the simplest and most general as far as the type of work.
In any sort of slogan or saying, complex words like "facilitate" are not recommended.

Hi... I think "The right tool for the right job" as Norman said is the best translation.
