똑같다 and 같다
Is there a vast difference between the two?

They are similar.
똑같다 is an empathetic form of 같다.
똑같다 means 'exactly the same' whereas 같다 means 'the same'.

And also you can say 같다 for "look like"
e.g) 이것은 노트북 같다 = it looks like notebook!
but "same" mean is much common^^
