How do you say "My friend thought it was funny to joke around." in Korean/Hangul?
Situation:
A friend of mine is joking around, but another person thinks s/he's being serious.
To solve the misunderstanding i want to explain that my friend was only joking and trying to be funny.

In this situation, you can say '친구가 농담한거야.' The sentence is gramatically correct and sounds natural. 농담하다 means 'to joke.' ~한거야 is a suffix of spoken language, which can be used in the conversation with the acquaintance.

이봐~ 친구는 그냥 못된 장난 쳐
이봐~ 친구는 그냥 농담 한 거야
you can add 그는/그녀는 듣지 마(라) between the 2 sentences.
