It's much better in German. If "out of sight" means" you never see it", then yes, it does mean it won't bother you. I don't think we have a good expression for this in English.

there is a saying: out of sight, out of mind.
but i think this with ordinary people, not with the ones we love. for example if we have a brother working overseas and we haven't seen him for years, can we forget him? or can we stop thinking of him?i think no.
