a question for who have read “the origin of species” by Darwin: whats the difference between “species”,“race”,and “breed”in this book? Im not sure if Im correct but I feel like “race” and “breed” are used to talk about domesticated animals or plants, and “species” to talk about the wild ones?are “race”and“breed” synonymous? ah...honestly, I've never read it in my own language before and this is not so easy to read~

Race only applies to humans to my understanding (Caucasian, Asia, etc.) Species refers to anything that is genetically compatible to be able to breed and produce young (humans, bears, birds, fish) there’s over 8 million species of both animals and plants in the world :). Different breeds are the one animal but just different in certain ways. Using dogs for an example would be a German Shepard and a Pug. Hope that helps you understand
