The weather outside is gloomy today, with a light drizzle. Mom was called away earlier due to a family emergency. A relative who had been critically ill kicked the bucket after a short struggle in the ICU. Grandpa insisted that Mom attend this get-together before the funeral, so she left reluctantly, feeling somber. I'm not sure how she'll be when she returns, but I imagine it won’t turn out anything good. I'll try to keep quiet and get an early night to avoid any potential tension. Dad, wisely, has already retreated to his room playing possum. I guess we will have to order burgers and pizzas for dinner for the next a few days.
