We own two thick blankets and several other thin and light blankets that we use for all kinds of weathers. I usually wash all the blankets in our washing machine but/except the two thick ones. I just call the laundry shop to take them to their shop and wash them for me. Today, it suddenly rained cats and dogs and I brought all the clothes outside in but I forgot one of the blankets which my husband hung outside without washing it (we hang it under the sun every day to make it feel clean and smell good). The blanket was totally wet and we had to put it in the washing machine for the first time. The machine is working now and I think he doesn't mind the hard work. I suppose that next time I will wash all the blankets with our washing machine.

For those I just call the cleaners to request a pickup and wash. Today, it suddenly started raining cats and dogs at a moment when we had many things still hanging outside to dry. I tried to bring everything in but forgot one blanket that my husband had hung out just to freshen in the sun. Alas, it was soaking wet and we had to put it in the washing machine for its first time. The machine is working now and I think it can handle such a heavy load. I suppose next time I will wash all the blankets with our washing machine.
