About a new friend About a new friend These months, I have been through many changes in life, quitting a job, breaking up with my ex, and staying at home alone. As I try to get used to my new life, I am kinda like a sea animal which is forced to adapt to a terrestrial area. Everything seems to be going against with me. Loneliness is the first thing I must confront with. Before I quit my job, my clients kept bending my ear from the office hour to my after hours; my coworkers crammed my email-box and never stopped talking in the Wechat group (a new way for people in China to send group text messages, also a new way for people to fawn on and please superiors) Right now, everything is as quiet as I wanted. However, when quietness takes the leading role in my life, it begins to torture me. This has been a while until I find my new friend, a spider. A few days ago, I sat in front of my desk, and tried to read the complex materials for a standard test. Honestly, I had prepared this test for months, but it did not go well. As I got frustrated again, I found that a small spider left its nest, went forward several centimeters, and went back to its nest. I was surprised by this: every time I raised my head and looked at the wall corner, the spider kept still at the same place. I even thought it might already died, because it lives a life which seems impossible for human beings. It never leaves a step from its nest (at least I did not see that before this time); it does not have a friend or a family (at least its companions never show up at its corner); it seems to have no preys for a long time (at least I did not find any prey swirling here and being small enough for the little spider to catch). But this time it moved, even though it only moved several centimeters and a few seconds. This led me to pause for reflection about life. Is loneliness really a monster in life? If I were the spider, would I take loneliness as a daily routine or a daily torment? It may be a daily torment, because god gives us emotion and desire, which bring us sadness and sorrow and thus make us the most fragile and vulnerable creatures in the world. But, god also gives us mind, body and spirit, which bring us contemplation and action and thus make us the most complicated and advanced creatures in the world. At least, next time when I feel lonely and frustrated, I might not be as cool as a cucumber, but I can try my best to be as cool as a spider. :)

When the job you like earns little 'The job you like sometimes earns little.' I always heard the words that people want a job with high salaries and social status, but not a job for happiness. Money may not buy happiness, however, without money, can one really be happy in this crowed world？ I am not sure whether people from all of the world can live a satisfying life under that situation. Especially in China, the answer will be 'no'. Food with gutter oil, water with died pigs and air with bad quality are things happened in our life. If one earns little, healthy food, water and air will be really far away from him. For example, in China, we never heard that poor people could buy a water clarifier or a air purifier. Also, college students, who receive the small amount of money from their parents, are people who really live in a world of gutter oil, because gutter oil food can be easily found in small restaurants near schools. In fact, if one has a grasp of cooking skills and he lives in a town with clean water and air, he may pass those living challenges for a heathy body in China. However, after that, there are challenges from one's relatives. A kid who gets a score of 97 will be criticized by his parents, if he has a cousin who gets a score of 100 in the same test. Also, a young man who has a job with 10000 RMB/Month will feel disappointed when he talks about his cousin who earns 12000 RMB/Month in the same type of company. In this situation, should one choose a job with more money or a job he likes? Right now, I am in this dilemma: There is a job I like, but it offers little money and it can really exhausts my energy in every day life; there is another job I don't like, but it offers a satisfying salary and I won't get that tired from it. Also, in the future, the job I like is not a job with a brilliant career development. However, another job can really helps one to be a highly specialized personnel in this career. So, a job for money or happiness?

I doubt whether one's mind could be easily improved in this way. In fact, clubs and lectures show little evidence of it. However, as we concentrate so much on improving our mind, we should at least take a day off and relax ourselves on a vacation. This misleading concept of travel generates modern agencies of tourist guides which are the most boring people that I can imagine. When we come across a square or a bronze statue, they force us to listen to the fact that someone was born on April 23, 1792, and died on December 2, 1852. Once I saw a group of children visiting a cemetery with convent sisters. When the convent sisters stood before a cemetery, one of them brought a book and read the dates of the deceased, the name and surname of his wife and lots of nonsense like these. I am sure that what they did spoiled the good mood of the children on their trip. Adults who are guiding by tourist guides have the same experience of those children. However, there are lots of studious people bring out their notebooks to record what the tourist guides say. Chinese people also encounter troubles when they travel to different places. But most of the Chinese tourists guide are not professional, they are people who sell fruits, donkey drivers and kids who live nearby. Their characteristics are lively but their words are not accurate. One day, I visited Huqiu. When I came back, my mind was full of a confusion of historical dates and sequence. The kid selling oranges told me that the stone bridge, which suspended 40 feet over the sword pool, was the dressing-table of Xishi, a beauty in ancient times. In fact, her dressing-table located 10 miles away from here. The kid simply wanted to sell a few oranges to me, but it turned out that I realized how a folklore gradually became a distortion of the truth.

Would you like to recommand some books for me? Especially some books for writing. How did people from English-speaking country gain writing skills? I am a college student from China. I learn English writing by reading a article and remembering some words or sentences structures.
