When I have to use "To do" and "To make"? I know that these verbs meaning the same thing, but I always have doubt when I have to use one of them. Please help me native speakers!! Thanks!!

My Dad Last Sunday August 11th was The Father's Day in Brazil and I couldn't celebrate with my dad because he lives in another city. I called to him and my dad said that Father's Day is every day and he's always right! I love my dad more than my mom, I don't know why... Sometimes I want to come back to my childhood just to sit on my dad's lap to gain cuddles but unfortunately It's impossible. My dad isn't so old he's 55 years old and missed two years and a half to his retirement. I want that this time goes fast because my dad deserves enjoy the life.
