Vicky is the #1 Tagalog teacher on Italki!

Vicky is honestly my favorite language teacher I’ve ever had 🧡 I can definitely feel how much effort she puts into our classes and she is very present while I share stories. I also appreciate how many examples she gives me for new grammar/vocab so that I fully understand. In the short amount of time I’ve been taking classes with Vicky, I’ve already noticed so much progress in my Tagalog! ✨

I have attended 4 lessons so far and have found each one to be extremely helpful for the development of my Filipino. Guro Vicky was able to pinpoint my Tagalog language level accurately from the beginning which was important for me since I had self-studied Tagalog previously. Her materials are creative, interactive, and tailored to my needs. She provides many example sentences for each word or topic we cover which helps me use new words with confidence. Lastly, Guro Vicky is a lovely person to talk to, keeps the conversation going, and gets me practicing my Tagalog. Our lessons are always fun :D Salamat Vicky!!!

Vicky is currently helping me interpret/translate a song in Tagalog. I usually struggle with interpreting songs in Tagalog because they are often poetic and use words that are not common in everyday conversation. But I really appreciate Vicky’s approach! For the words I don’t know, she will give me the root words, synonyms, and more example sentences. I’m learning so many new words to build up my vocabulary 🌱 always a fun class with Vicky! 🧡

I always appreciate how patient Vicky is, especially because I don't have lots of vocabulary under my belt (yet!) She never makes me feel bad about taking my time, or using the wrong word. I feel completely supported in my language learning journey thanks to Vicky!
