Hi, my name is Mika and I live in Nagoya (my hometown) ,I also lived in Tokyo for two decades.
My favorite things are traveling, shopping, studying language and playing sports.
As my job other than italki, I have run my own company for decade in Japan.
And in such a world situation, I'm interested in the job of diplomacy and continue to learn about it to support people around the world.
As for my personality, I'm energetic, curious, engaging, and fun!

現在名古屋に住んでおり、東京にも10数年程住んでいました。
好きなことは旅行や買い物、言語を学ぶことやスポーツをすることです。

I am a native speaker of Japanese and I also have had the opportunity to live in Los Angels (Santa Monica), New York (Manhattan/Queens) and Hawaii (Honolulu/Kaneohe) for a combined several years, therefore I can support students with English too.
As a Japanese teacher, I would like to teach students slowly, clearly, and with warm hospitality.

My typical class style is conversational practice with fun, but I can also teach you pronounce, grammer, how to make a sentence, read and write if you have interest.
I listen carefully to the student's pronunciation and am skilled at helping them sound like a Japanese speaker.
I had been a job related to speaking so I’m good at lessons that improve student's speaking skill - value a natural, fun, easy-to-talk atmosphere and humor. Recommended for those who want to improve their speaking skills.

Thanks for another interesting lesson today, Mika! Today we went over pronunciation and intonation of certain words I have trouble with, also discussed certain ways of emphasizing in English that don’t have a Japanese counterpart, and then went over some verb tenses. I've now had several fantastic lessons with Mika-san. She is fun to talk to and provides a calm, welcoming environment to push my limits and make mistakes. Even when I express things poorly, she understands what I'm trying to say and suggests more natural ways to say it, which is exactly the feedback I'm after. She always provides post lesson notes with new vocabulary and grammar etc. Looking forward to more lessons in the future!

I always progress fast with Mika-sensei, and the lessons are super fun as the one of today. In the future, I would like to visit every shinkansen for gathering the cute bento now :)
