Hello! My name is Esja. I was born in raised in the US. I graduated from Cornell university with a dual major of Asian Studies and Middle Eastern Studies. My interests include language study, travel, and art. I live and teach English in Kyushu, Japan. In addition to English, I can also speak Japanese at the advanced level, and Persian at the intermediate level.Ja jako nauczyciel

I love teaching! I have been teaching for 3 years since moving to Japan. I have taught as an ALT, as a kindergarten teacher, and as a dispatch teacher to a variety of age groups. I especially love working with young children, but I happily enjoy working with older people too! I am very interested in language learning both personally and as a teacher, and I want to help many people on their journey to learn English! Moje lekcje & Styl nauczania
For adult lessons, my basic approach to split the lesson between half conversation, and half textbook work and drills. For the conversation portion, the student can choose their own topic, or I can offer some topics to choose from. During the lesson, I will provide feedback and record new words and grammar. For the textbook work and drills, I tailor the types of materials used and the difficulty of the materials based on the skills of the student.
For kids lessons, the approach depends on the age of the student. For very small kids, I use a combination of story time, songs, games, and chants. For older students, I use textbooks designed for young ESL learners.Moje materiały dydaktyczne
