Hi!
My name is Conor and I am an English teacher here on italki. I studied Spanish and Geography in University College Dublin. After this, I completed the 120 Hour Advanced TEFL Qualification, as well as the 30 Hour Teaching English Online Course with the TEFL Institute of Ireland, before starting work as a soccer coach in a variety of different schools.
I am from Dublin in Ireland and I currently live in Seville, Spain. My native language is English, and my accent isn't too strong! Outside of teaching I love sports, especially soccer. I have worked as a full-time soccer coach for the last 5 years. I'm also interested in cooking and fitness.Ja jako nauczyciel
I like to put the student's individual needs at the centre of the learning process. My own experience of majoring in Spanish in university allowed me to understand the most effective techniques to use when teaching a new language.
This, combined with my TEFL Certificate, has enabled me to understand how to best help any student of any standard to meet their English language goals. I teach students of any level, ranging from complete beginners to advanced learners preparing for specialised exams.

My teaching strategy is highly personalised. I'm aware that certain teaching methods and techniques are more helpful to some students than others. This allows me to specifically tailor each student's learning plan, allowing them to develop and improve their language skills at a speed they enjoy.
I like to find out early how best a student likes to learn. This allows me to include the right combination of visual, aural and oral aids in our classes. I also like to include real life materials such as Youtube entries and newspaper articles in my lessons.

Conor is an amazing teacher. We have been together for six months, and I'm still learning new vocabulary in every class. He understands my needs, and our classes are exclusively tailored to them. I enjoy his way of teaching, and his materials are always relevant to what's going on in the world, making the classes more realistic.

I recently got my desired IELTS result after taking classes with Conor for a prolonged period. We worked on my speaking repeatedly, doing multiple exam papers every class. He gave me writing task 1 and 2 homeworks which kept me accountable, he then corrected the writing in class. We worked on expanding my vocabulary through the use of textbooks. He will definitely prepare you for IELTS 100%!

Today we continued with our speaking practice for my FCE exams, as usual. I love the fact that we always manage to cover a wide range of topics during each lesson. We make good use of our time! Thank you!

I have been taking conversation classes with Conor for a while and I am happy with my progress. He provides me with an advanced level reading to practice pronunciation and then we discuss it. He is interested in many contemporary issues and the conversation also goes well. He also has a flexible schedule and is always available for classes. I definitely recommend him!
