Jessie is not a typical professor. She is the kind of benevolent presence you wish you had found earlier—someone who steps back just enough for you to express yourself freely in English, while asking simple yet incisive questions, almost like Inspector Columbo, that spark interaction and keep the conversation alive.
She is truly formidable to talk with. And as a delightful bonus, if you are fond of surfing, water sports, dogs, or South Africa in general, she is absolutely unbeatable on the subject.
