Anna

My Ukrainian teacher Anna is such a juwel. Although I am always rather exhausted afterwards - the lessons with Anna just make me happy. She is such an encouraging, friendly and very professional teacher. I do highly recommend her!

I had the privilege of worked with Anna 3x/week for a little over a month, and I can tell you that that was the best money I ever spent. Anna is exceptional. The quantity of resources in her possession is unheard of, and she uses them to make sure that her students get the best possible experiences during their Russian learning. She has cool multimedia-based lessons and homework assignments, as well. She gives homework if you want homework, and she grades it promptly with clear explanations for mistakes. She also makes it a point to have students talk in the target language as much as possible, but her English is very fluent, so if you a need to switch to English, she can do so easily, though she works to get back to Russian as soon as possible. I would recommend Anna to anyone. I would even recommend her over the majority of in-person instructors. She makes the technology work for her students in a way that in-person instruction never could.

Anna is a very dedicated and supportive teacher. She is incredibly warm, helpful, and cheerful and helps make learning a new language feel less intimidating even when I make mistakes or don't know certain words. She provides a huge number of resources and support for learning after the lesson, and puts so much effort into the lesson itself. I get so many opportunities to speak, write, listen, and engage with short texts even as a complete beginner and it's really helping me. Each lesson is very practical and interesting. I look forward to each lesson with her, and always feel like I learn so much from each one

Since beginning lessons with Anna, I have made tremendous progress in learning Ukrainian. Like many English speakers, my knowledge of grammar is weak, but to understand how to use cases in Ukrainian, sometimes you really need to understand the parts of a sentence. Anna is great at teaching this. She is also very responsive to requests. I asked her if we could spend one lesson a week on reading, and she has been super-helpful with that. She even put a huge amount of effort into creating an online reading course built around the classic story "The Little Prince", which I wanted to read. I am so happy I found Anna here on iTalki. She is a gem.

Anna is a very inspiring teacher, who responds beautifully to my interests regarding the Ukrainian language and culture as well as my learning needs. Highly recommend for anyone, who has a sincere interest in the Ukrainian language and culture.

We started off with a short chat today. I'm trying to speak as much as I can in Ukrainian, and Anna is very patient as I try to get my sentences out. Then we checked through my homework and Anna took the opportunity to teach some grammar about the future tense that we hadn't covered before. After that, we returned to reading about Poltava. After each paragraph or so Anna usually explains a bit more about the culture or the history, so in each lesson I learn so much more than just the language. Дякую Анно! До зустрічі!
