Nisreen Hammad

I have been studying under Nisreen’s tutelage for around nine months, now, and I have improved a lot. Nisreen is that rare teacher who has the confidence to actually LET YOU SPEAK. It is my experience with many (well-meaning) teachers that if I’m struggling to compose a sentence or to find a word in my head, they interject; you lose your train of thought, and fail to do the thinking necessary for retention. When you do reach out for help, however, Nisreen is patient, informative, and SO VERY kind. I work with Nisreen mostly in terms of speaking and listening, but I have also had a few classes with her with regards to reading. She won’t fail you. Finally, Nisreen is always engaged in the class, and on my needs. She is extremely helpful, and is a big reason for my ever-growing confidence in using the Arabic language.

teacher notified me she would be late because she needed to go to her prayers ( not sure why she accepted the lesson time given that one knows the prayer times already?) teacher was pretty absent minded, multitasking and even muting her mic to do other things, could not hear her too well and she left on time, not adding the 10 min ahead was late ( she just dropped out and later said “ oh you left before I could say bye”- in fact it was her who left, not me) making the lesson 10 min shorter. not a good experience, I studied with several other Italki tutors and almost all are very enthusiastic & engaging & present, with no multitasking during a session.

I am progressing so much thanks to Nisreen’s calm, patient, and understanding personality, and I truly enjoy our time together. Nisreen is kind and helpful, and enjoys her students’ learning journey. I’m thankful for having chosen such a wonderful teacher 😄
