A month ago, I began learning Italian without knowing what to expect. I simply hoped to make a little progress and perhaps pick up a few phrases. To my surprise—and delight—this journey has become something I genuinely look forward to, especially my twice-weekly lessons with Giusy. Giusy creates a safe, supportive learning environment where I never feel judged for making mistakes. Her constant encouragement has been vital. Learning a new language as an adult can feel daunting—like trying to dance in a room full of professionals when you’ve just learned to walk. A year ago, I started learning Italian with Giusy not knowing where the journey would take me. Twelve months later, I am conjugating verbs in five tenses, using object pronouns, and holding real conversations about travel, culture, and the differences between Singapore and Italy. These are not rehearsed dialogues. They are real topics, and that makes all the difference. Giusy keeps lessons varied in a way that makes an hour disappear. Tough grammar sessions give way to listening exercises, reading passages, and pronunciation work. She pushes me to read aloud, corrects me, and moves on without making me feel self-conscious. Puzzles and structured exercises break up the heavier grammar topics so nothing feels like a grind. She adapts to how adults actually learn. When a concept clicks for me through patterns and tables, she runs with that. When I plateau, she spots it before I do. If you are an adult learner who doubts whether real progress is possible, I am proof that it is.

I have worked with Giusy for a few months and she is fantastico. A very warm and pleasant person and a superb teacher who can pace lessons to the student and understands what the student wishes to learn and why. Very patient and encouraging, and able to change course quickly if needed. I have really enjoyed learning with Giusy, and strongly recommend her.
