I have known many language teachers, and Graciela is exceptional. When I began, I could barely form a sentence in Spanish; now I am able to sustain a conversation on almost any subject. She is always positive and encouraging, and she has a real gift for meeting students at exactly the right level. Graciela seems to have a resource for everything — from the use of the subjunctive to the names of different Chilean sandwiches. She is intelligent, perceptive, and an excellent listener. Our conversations are great fun and consistently engaging. I learn something new every time we speak, often well beyond the mechanics of language itself. I have family roots in Chile, and Graciela has been invaluable in helping me understand aspects of Chilean usage and culture. At the same time, she is cosmopolitan and brings a broad, informed perspective on the Spanish language and the cultures of the Spanish-speaking world.
